Online Communications Coordinator

Description:The Online Communications Coordinator produces and distributes online constituent communications and manages constituent contacts. S/he ensures quality and maximum results for all outbound emails, newsletters, and other electronic communications.
Duties:

1. Coordinate email marketing

  • Create visually compelling and technically sound online communications from provided content
  • Manage lists and contact records to maximize distribution and response
  • Test strategies and analyze results to improve strategies
  • Create reports to share results
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate messaging across channels

2. Support  technical needs for websites

  • Contribute tactics to improve email collection on websites
  • Assist with code and other technical issues
  • Assist with integration of outbound messages and web content

3. Engagement in ongoing professional development to stay current on emerging strategies and technologies.

4. Engagement in agency -wide activities and initiatives including all-staff meetings, working groups or task forces and implementation of strategic initiatives.

5. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
  1.  Deep commitment to LIRS's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
  2.  Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field
  3. At least two years' experience in email marketing or online communications
  4. Proven experience in an email focused role with solid HTML, CSS, and email best practices required. Experience with Blackbaud preferred.
  5. Experience with Wordpress as a Content Management System preferred
  6. Strong editing skills
  7. Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities in coordination with editorial calendar required.
  8. Experience with and commitment to working in a very diverse workforce
  9. Appreciation and respect for Lutheran beliefs and values, church member motivations and sensitivities
  10. Ability to work independently and in concert with team members
  11. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  12. Commitment to timely achievement of deliverables and outcomes
  13. Excellent written and oral communication skills
