| Description: | Position Objective To assess training needs among the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service affiliate network, develop, and coordinate trainings that foster effective resettlement practices, enhanced outcomes and community integration for refugees. |
| Duties: | - Work collaboratively with LIRS pre- and post-arrival refugee resettlement staff and affiliate staff to assess training needs, develop effective training plans and coordinate training implementation.
- Develop "train the trainer" sessions and share creative learning techniques to support other LIRS staff who implement trainings. Conduct trainings as needed.
- Research, develop, coordinate and/or deliver technical assistance to LIRS affiliates to ensure excellent service provision. As necessary, travel to sites to provide mentoring to meet site specific challenges.
- Coordinate preparation of training formats/materials and webinar tools. Assist in the development of service manuals.
- Facilitate the planning and implementation of conference workshops and meetings.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Community Integration and Refugee Resettlement Units and Programs and Protection Department and work collegially to achieve the unit, department and agency's objectives.
- Debrief with staff on monitoring visits to identify training needs and support development of training plans.
- Recruit and coordinate peer training and mentorship.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | - Commitment to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service's core mission and values and an ability to model those values in relationship with colleagues and partners; commitment to refugees and immigrants.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Experience in training and providing technical assistance to service providers or staff.
- Experience with conducting meaningful evaluations and follow-up
- Experience working with refugees, immigrants or limited English speakers.
- Knowledge and sensitivity of cross cultural issues.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight periodically.
- Proficiency with training applications, databases, and web-based meetings.
