| Description: | Position Objective To support LIRS network employment staff and provide training and technical assistance on a national level that fosters excellent employment outcomes for refugees. This is a temporary position with an anticipated ending date of January 31, 2011. |
| Duties: | - Work collaboratively with LIRS Matching Grant, Refugee Works, Training, and Post-Arrival staff to enhance employment outcomes within the LIRS affiliate network;
- Assess training needs, conduct training sessions, and identify and share best practices with affiliate staff;
- Participate in the planning and implementation of conference workshops, Employment Training Institutes, and other meetings;
- Research and nurture employer relationships at the national level that will benefit affiliate programs;
- Develop resource materials training materials, and support Refugee Works publications;
- Assist with the development of peer-to-peer employment support and networking;
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Community Integration Unit and Community Partnerships Department and work collegially to achieve the unit, department and agency's objectives.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

| Qualifications: | - Commitment to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service's core mission and values and an ability to model those values in relationship with colleagues and partners; commitment to refugees and immigrants.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required;
- Experience with job development, counseling and placement;
- Familiarity with ORR Matching Grant Program;
- Experience in training and providing technical assistance to service providers or staff;
- Experience working with refugees, immigrants or limited English speakers;
- Knowledge and sensitivity of cross cultural issues;
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Ability and willingness to travel overnight periodically;
- Proficiency with basic Microsoft applications and web-based meetings.
