Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is seeking a Senior Grants Manager who manages the federal and private sector grant process, identifies key donor prospects, ensures alignment of funding opportunities with organizational goals, and collaborates effectively across departments to increase private funding from corporations, foundations, church bodies, and the US government.
Minimum of 3 days a week to work in the office with the flexibility to telework.

Duties:Proposal Management and Processes

• Manage the RFP review, proposal, and post-proposal process for all USG and private sector opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with the organization's key stakeholders to create a collaborative process and implement effective systems for submitting high quality USG proposals to the State Department and HHS.
• Collaborate with Finance and relevant departments to obtain needed information to create budgets for proposals.
• Assist in the collection of pro forma report materials including standard institutional information and attachments for USG and institutional relationships.
• Manage the Institutional Giving Manager position and assign relevant duties as needed.

Prospect Research and Funding Priorities

• Work closely and in collaboration with Programs staff and other key stakeholders to identify organizational funding priorities and develop the appropriate case statements and concept notes that effectively promote these priorities to potential funders.
• Manage the prospect research process for foundation and corporate opportunities and maintain a prospect tracking system.
• Provide strategic analysis of private sector and new USG funding opportunities to Director for Development, Leadership Team and relevant Program staff.
• Develop and track all current and lapsed funders to monitor trends and opportunities for cultivation.
• Map the funding environment to target likely prospects, especially focusing on connections and relationships that may exist between LIRS, the Board, President's Office, or other key stakeholders.

Donor Reporting and Cultivation

• Provide funders with the proper level of cultivation and communication to maintain effective partnership.
• Ensure the collection of needed information from Programs and Finance required for timely grant reports.
• Submit comprehensive reports on time and ensure all funder obligations are met. Lead the process with the Development team to update relevant funder records in Raiser's Edge.
• Work with Communications to ensure any promised corporate or foundation recognition.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:• Undergraduate degree in a relevant field required. Graduate degree preferred.
• Excellent oral and written abilities; experience writing compelling foundation and corporate proposals.
• 5-7 years of experience in development and grant writing or management.
• US Government proposal writing experience preferred.
• Relationship management skills and experience with relationship-based fundraising.
• Knowledge of data management systems, particularly Raiser's Edge.
• Strong familiarity with funding research tools including Foundation Center.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and other Microsoft software is essential.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to "manage- up."
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate and collaborate with a diverse workforce.
• Ability and willingness to travel when needed up to 10%, and work some evenings and weekends.
