Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) is seeking an Applications Manager. Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the Applications Manager is responsible for managing and supporting the use of commercial and custom software applications in use at Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS). LIRS employs a diverse set of information management applications, including multiple case management systems, document manage/storage systems, cloud productivity suites, marketing and fundraising applications, and finance and HR systems. The Applications Manager monitors the health of these systems, configures and maintains them, assists and trains users.
• Responsible for implementing and managing agency-wide software applications -- including office productivity, databases, intranet, extranet and learning management platforms -- and supporting the business processes and objectives for those systems. • Develop and implement plans, policies and procedures, technical standards, methods and schedules for software applications. • Manage the delivery of functional support, administration, and specifications pertaining to LIRS software applications including design, configuration, testing, analyzing, and supporting of LIRS software applications. • Develop written, video and in-person training materials and train staff on application use. • Oversee the development and modification of business processes to align them with best practices and optimize the use of software applications. • Responsible for managing the development of requirements for queries, reports and business intelligence. • Articulate and communicate the assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, and/or any issues along with corresponding deadlines and timeframes for completion. • Manage the development and maintenance of application interfaces. • Provide troubleshooting, support, and problem resolution for LIRS software applications as well as patching and testing. • Coordinate reporting, tracking, and resolution of application-related issues with software support vendor organizations. • Prepare, or coordinate the preparation of, application-related documentation and delivery of applications related training. • As a member of the Technology Team, provide supplemental Help Desk support (Tier 1 and 2) on all IT requests and issues, as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in computer sciences, business administration in combination with 4+ years of experience in an Information Technology role managing web-based or hosted software applications equivalent experience. • Experience and/or training in providing functional analysis and support, requirements gathering, gap analysis, application setup and configuration, customization, and end-user support for enterprise level applications, such as Salesforce, intranet and extranet platforms and learning management systems. • Experience with database integration and reporting is preferred. • "Expert user" skills in MS-Office, Windows, and Desktop support. • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of office/field employees and management. Represent LIRS in a professional manner when dealing with outside suppliers and partners. • Ability to explain, demonstrate and clarify to others within well-established policies, procedures, and standards, as well as the ability to follow specific instructions and respond to simple and difficult requests from others. • Ability to occasionally oversee evening and/or weekend functions and deployments, as well as, after hour on-call support rotation as needed. • Deep commitment to LIRS' core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners
